I photographed this beautiful swan while kayaking down the Muskegon River last week (used my iPhone). To the best of my knowledge it is a mute swan, considered an invasive species that threatens the aquatic ecosystems in Michigan and the surrounding Great Lakes states. The bird was very accommodating in allowing me to approach in my kayak to take the photo. I also liked the distorted reflection in the water.

Thanks for posting this beautiful pic while kayaking! I’ve wanted to do just that but I am afraid I’d tip over and lose my camera in the water. Featured you pic in Wednesday’s email.
I purchased a good quality waterproof(even good for underwater) Camera for Peg. Not terribly expensive and takes and stores great pictures. I’m sure if you just swept up a few dollars off the kitchen floor you could by one!
I must confess that this was taken by my sweet wife Peg!
