Rebecca Bowater, our New Zealand naturalist, captured several pictures of the elusive Fernbird and shared them with us. The Fernbird is more often heard than seen so it was a treat that she could get shots of one out in the open. This bird is endemic to New Zealand. Note the long scraggly tail.
