Our intrepid traveler asteinmann was recently in Hawaii and shared shots of some of the birds he saw during his visit. Some really spectacular colors on a colorful island. Enjoy!
First up a Blue-billed Tern which asteinmann said he saw in the zoo in Honolulu – I’m assuming it was just visiting there and not on exhibit (GreatBirdPics does not accept shots of birds in captivity).
Here’s a pretty shot of a Warbling White-eye (formally Japanese White-eye) nibbling on flowers “near the zoo.”
Next is a Pacific Golden-plover in lush breeding colors.
Lastly, here is a bright Red-crested Cardinal perched up high. Such a striking bird!
