Another AI Conversation

Take a look at the image below.  Can you see AI at work?

 

Bajadreamer sent it in and described how the Marbled Godwit walked so close to him that he could barely fit the whole bird in the frame.  As you may know, this is a personal pet peeve of mine when someone crops an image down so there is very little room between the frame edge and the bird.  So what did Bajadreamer do?  He went to Photoshop and “added” space above and below the bird.  AI was able to generate pixels that looked very similar to those around it to create more space.  Did adding that space increase or decrease the quality of the image?  Bajadreamer thinks “no” and I agree with him.  The AI did not create or eliminate a part of the bird so that remained intact.  What do you think?
