In a Sea of Coneflowers
Technically this photo was not submitted this week but I wanted to take the opportunity to highlight it. Emil Baumbach caught a fairly typical Goldfinch atop a Coneflower (also known as Echinacea). The colors in this pic are magnificent – note that he did not zoom in on the bird (as I am apt to do) but gave a wide view of the flowers, which are so colorful. Great job, Emil!
