Sylvester Alphonso is our newest member and he lives in India. I don’t know how he found us, but I’m glad he did; here are some photos he’s taken of birds in India. For each of the birds below, click on the picture and read Sylvester’s Description for interesting information about the species.
We start with an Indian Robin. Did you know there are over fifty species with the word Robin in the name?
The Indian Roller reminds me of the Lilac-breasted Roller I saw in Tanzania.
This Khalij Pheasant has a colorful head – according to Sylvester it is found in the Himalayas!
The Bar Headed Goose migrates over the Himalayas, making it the highest-flying bird in the world.
