Sometimes our bird photographers capture images that are humorous, ironic, or cute. Today’s showcase provides a bit of each. Enjoy!
We start out with an awwww pic with a Sandhill Crane and its colt from Blankes.
Here’s an interesting one from docshaf. A Caspian Tern with the Cape-May Lewes Ferry in the background.
Here’s an interesting shot. At first glance it appears to be two unrelated birds with a Chipping Sprarow on the left and a juvenile Brown-headed Cowbird on the right. The thing about Cowbirds is they lay their eggs in other birds’ nests and rely on the owner of the nest to raise the baby Cowbird. What we can assume from Blankes’ photograph is that the Chipping Sparrow is the “mom” and is feeding the much larger Cowbird.
