GBP Members’s Bird Photography Showcase – 5/5/25

Lots of pics have been coming in – many of them from Paul Demkovich (and I thank him for continuing to support the site with all his pics).  I’ll be featuring some of Paul’s shots later this week, but today I’ll feature some GreatBirdPics from people not named Paul!

A Mountain Bluebird is a very rare occurrence in Chicagoland (this one is a first for Cook County), but trust Emil Baumbach to go out there and get a beautiful picture of the one that showed up.

Asteinmann brings in the big bird – a Pileated Woodpecker he found in Ohio.  It’s always a treat to see one of these.

It took some back-and-forth emails to get this picture of a Lucy’s Warbler into the database.  Mike Affinito finally figured it out and I’m glad he did!

Finally, another uncommon bird to Chicagoland – a Wilson’s Phalarope.  Look how gorgeous this shot of the male and female is – with some reflection to top it off!  GreatBirdPic Birder2011!
