Here we go again with Members’ Showcase – a selection of recently shared bird photographs from our loyal members. Here are four that caught my eye:
You know by now that I love reflection shots and this one from docshaf is somewhat unique. The reflection of the Least Sandpiper is actually cleaner than the bird itself, which is surrounded by short grasses. Interesting juxtaposition!
Here’s another interesting juxtaposition- the streaks of feathers on this Dark-eyed Junco are mimicked by the streaks of pine needles it is perched within. Nice and sharp, dewarles!
How would you like to find this bird in your backyard!? This Crimson Rosella is about as colorful a bird as can be. Photogirl10 snapped it while feeding on her Darwinia plant (in Australia).
Finally, Bob was in Star, Idaho when he snapped this shot of a Black-billed Magpie. I really like the composition – the interesting foliage in the background doesn’t distract from the bird but enhances the overall view.
I’ll also direct your attention to the Latest Pics section because Rebecca Bowater has been posting lots of birds from Antartica, Falkland Islands, and So. Georgia Island. These are of particular interest to me because Karen and I will be going there in a couple of months.
