I’ve been watching the count of photos shared by the GreatBirdPics community go up and up, and we recently hit a new milestone. Believe it or not, in the last few days the 15,000th picture was shared! When I put this site together four years ago I never imagined so many Great Bird Pics would be in our database. I’m very proud and humbled that so many people would take the time to share their bird photographs here.
By luck of the draw, the 15,000th picture was submitted by Paul Demkovich. He doesn’t win a prize for his four-frame image of Verdin, but earns my thanks for being a major contributor to the site. Here’s #15,000:
