Hummers

A couple of pictures of Ruby-throated Hummingbirds came in lately.  Take a look:

Avneet Kaur’s camera really had to struggle with the backlight in this shot of two hummers at a feeder.  All in all the one of the left is well exposed, even though the rest of the image is pretty blown out.

JamesD captured this image of a hummer in his backyard.  I like how the green of the bird matches the background colors.

Finally, just look at the light in this shot by LouAlexander.  The side of the bird’s head is illuminated and shaft of sunlight is hitting some of the flowers yet the background is jet black.  How did he do it?
