Wow! We had 176 entries in our “In And By The Water” bird photography contest. Xwinger and I agonized over which shots to keep or set aside – even after the first pass there were still 144 GreatBirdPics in the running. We narrowed the field down to eleven and finally selected Mike Affinito’s “Phalarope Liftoff” as our First Place winner. We liked the on-the-water point of view, the framing, action within the shot, excellent timing, and the sharp focus. Congratulations Mike for his winning bird photograph (and $100)!
