In Living Color

Some of the Great Bird Pics our members have been sharing lately just take my breath away!  The vivid colors exhibited by birds around the world are so captivating I had to bring them to your attention.  Here are four examples:

Zaratwitstra has been sharing many of the color tanagers he’s been photographing in Panama.  Here’s a Crimson-colored Tanager in the rain.

Speaking of the rain, Bajadreamer shot this Emerald Tanager while in Costa Rica.  He slowed the camera’s shutter speed down to 1/250th of a second so as the rain drops fall they leave a trail behind.  The image wouldn’t have been nearly as effective if he had used a fast shutter speed and the rain just appeared as round drops.

Sandipgolani captured this Fire-tailed Sunbird at high altitude in West Bengal, India.  Such vivid colors (helped of course by the pink flower),

Perhaps not a many colors as the previous birds but since the Common Yellowthroat is my “spark” bird photography species I had to include it today.  Thanks to docshaf for capturing this great shot.
