It’s Mike Affinito Day!

It looks like Mike Affinito was off on a birding trip in the U.S. north-central states of Minnesota and the Dakotas.  He shared some great shots of birds he saw along the way.  Check them out:

You know I’m always a sucker for a good BIF shot and this is one of them.  A male Rudy Duck showing its breeding season blue bill is about to touch down.

I would love to get a shot like this one – two Western Grebes literally running across the water together!  Great Bird Pic!

Out in the middle of the plains, grassland birds like the Nelson’s Sparrow pop up once in a while.  This one showed up long enough for its portrait.  Notice how the bird’s colors blend right in with the grasses.

A Chestnut-collared Longspur sings away atop a stalk of grass.  A striking bird!

Thanks to Mike Affinito for sharing these amazing bird photographs from his trip!
