Member’s Bird Photography Showcase – 10/26/21

Pretty Bird!  Pretty Bird!

In a never-ending quest to bring you bird pics you’ll love, I bring you today’s Member’s Showcase.  Enjoy!

Rebecca sends us a very interesting bird – a Straw-necked Ibis.  Two features stand out on first glance – that long, curved bill and the iridescent back.  Wonderful bird!

Rebecca again, with a Galah siting on a power line in Australia.  I was drawn to the pink then red head.

How did he get this shot?  Osprey60’s point of view looks like he was eye-to-eye with this Blue-winged Teal; was he standing in the water?  Just look at the detail in this pic and the great expression on the bird’s face – wonderful shot!

Another pic by Osprey60 to complete today’s post – an American Bittern.  I’ve barely seen one; it was a brief look of one scurrying away into the reeds.  Osprey60 said he observed this one for an hour!  He took 500 pics in the first 15 minutes and then continued to snap pics if it moved to a better position.  I love the dark setting – so appropriate for a bittern.  A wonderful addition to our site!

Stay Safe.  Go Birding.  Take Pics.  Share Here.  Repeat.

Mike
