Members’ Bird Photography Showcase – 4/10/24

I’ve concentrated so much on the Chile and Argentina pics that I’ve neglected to feature our members’ pics.  Here are a few that caught my eye.

Ron Zigler posted a series of pics showing the courtship display of two Great Blue Herons.  I liked them all and this one caught my attention because of all the feathers flailing about.  GreatBirdPic, Ron!

Who can resist taking a picture of an owl?  LinLark couldn’t so she got a picture of a Great Horned Owl in her yard with its eyes wide open.  Nice!

JamesD tried his hand at a Red-winged Blackbird.  Why was it a risk?  The black bird is so hard to capture details.  Sometimes you can increase the Shadows setting to bring out some feather detail.  Good job, JamesD!

Isn’t the Double-banded Plover just the cutest thing?  Look how dainty it looks, as it pauses its search for food among the shells in New Zealand.  Captured beautifully by Rebecca Bowater.
