Members’ Bird Photography Showcase – 5/19/22

Migrants Rule!

Like me, many of our members get excited each spring when the migrant birds are passing through.  The migrants in spring are often decked out in their breeding colors so they are even more spectacular than other times of the year.  Since they are migrants they are just passing through so we just get a peek at them before they are gone.  Enjoy some recent migrant pics:

One of my favorite migrants is the Blackburnian Warbler.  No other warbler has such a strikingly orange head.  Captured perfectly by Birder2011.

Asteinmann was out there and captured both the female and male Redstart. They are fairly easy to find but move so quickly they are hard to photograph.  Great job!

Asteinmann had quite a day at Montrose last Friday.  He had pics of some of the hard-to-find migrants like this Yellow-breasted Chat.

Migrant season is starting to wind down already so get out there and find some, too!

Go Birding.  Take Pics.  Share Here.  Repeat.

Mike
