Member’s Bird Photography Showcase – 8/19/21

Pretty Bird!  Pretty Bird!

Let’s start today off in beautiful Costa Rica.  This quiet Central American country hosts a wide range of birds and habitats.  If you haven’t gone to Costa Rica, put it on your bucket list.  Bajadreamer went there and saw this Gray-cowled Wood-rail.  Very colorful.  Click on the picture to read about getting the shot.

Back to the States now where Emil Baumbach captured a Woodhouse Scrub-Jay.  One of the three in the Scrub-Jay family, of which the Florida Scrub-Jay is probably more familiar to most.

How about another one from Emil.  This time a Spotted Towhee sits atop a pine singing away – with bright red eyes!

We’ll wrap up today’s GreatBirdPics with one called “Splotchy” by LinLark.  An Indigo Bunting that hasn’t quite come of age.

Stay Safe.  Go Birding.  Take Pics.  Share Here.  Repeat.
