My old nemesis bird (the one I searched and searched for to no avail) was the Cackling Goose. Karen and I would carefully look over fields covered in thousands of Canada Geese in search for just one Cackling Goose. After years I finally saw one, thanks to Josh at Red Hill Birding.
Which brings me to today’s featured Great Bird Pic. Janet shared a great shot with a string of Cackling Geese in the foreground and three Canada Geese in the background. You can easily see the size difference between the two and if you look carefully you’ll notice that the Cackling Geese have much shorter and snubber bills. Great comparison shot, Janet!
