Facinating – the Black Swan here in Illinois? I don’t remember seeing it posted on eBird. Glad you got a shot of it.
I am not sure how I heard about it. My brother lives abut 5 miles from the lake. I sent him on a scouting mission and he found the swan. I posted it on e-bird on 2 separate days. I seem to recall it was not flagged as a rare species by them so it never got included in their daily alerts. That may be why it was missed.
