Marsh Warbler

Marsh Wren

We were driving along the Grand River in Grand Haven, Michigan last summer looking for birds. We were especially enjoying the singing Marsh Wrens. We were stopped along the edge of the road when this bird popped up not far from the car and started to sing. This was one of 12 singing Marsh Wrens in about a mile stretch of the river.

This photo was second place in the Mug Club Contest for the Hemlock Crossing Nature Education Center. This contest raises funds for the Nature Center. Those who purchase mugs get two special field trips a year.
