While searching for the black necked stilts that have recently been reported at Springbrook Prairie, I found this Sandhill Crane, that was sitting on a nest! I have never seen a Sandhill on a nest before so this extra special for me! The crane was very corporative, and allowed me to take many photos!

The Sandhill on the nest was an interesting find. We were there too a couple of hours before you looking for the Stilts and someone pointed it out to us – I would have missed it otherwise.
I was told about this nest but missed finding it. Now I know I need to go back when the chicks hatch.
