Piping Plover

Though still a protected species, plovers are much more abundant in Massachusetts than the great lakes region. This gave me plenty of opportunities to observe these birds up close.

Actually for this one, I wasn’t. There are dunes along the beach at race point and this plover was up on the ridge of a dune at about eye level
