European Goldfinch

This goldfinch is native to Europe and North Africa, but was introduced to other areas. Usually seen with other American goldfinches eating thistles at feeders or seeds from grass.

I love the muted colors in the European Goldfinch pic. The bird just pops out with the grasses in the background a diffuse brown. The thistle adds additional interest to the picture.
