This bald eagle had been perched in a large oak tree in front of my car near the boat launch on the Illinois River west of Hillview, Illinois. It apparently spotted me while I was taking pictures of it in the tree and it took off. I instinctively fired off a couple shots of its departure before it vanished for good.
