This one appeals to me

The appeal of a photograph is certainly a subjective thing. What is appealing or memorable to one person is trash to another. This photograph appeals to me; many people would state (correctly) that the bird is underexposed (too dark). For me, the bird, a Northern Cardinal female, is certainly memorable but also this shot was taken shortly after sunrise on a cold January morning in Arizona, and the shafts of sun were coming through the sage bushes on my left. The background was illuminated but not the perch and the bird. I remember that it was a magical time and this picture reflects that.
Shot with a Canon R5, 600 mm lens, SS 1/2500, ISO 800, f/7.1, at a range of 20′.
