Very excited to spot this Common Gallinule this morning at one of my local nature preserves. There were two in the location and I was amazed how loud their calls were. I saw one fly across the marsh and while I was trying to spot that one on one side, the other one casually came out of the reeds on the other side to do a little preening.

Good shot of the Gallinule. Although frequently seen in Florida more of them are appearing in Illinois. Glad you got this one!
