Red-breasted Nuthatch

Red-breasted Nuthatch approaching a feeder

Viewed 25 Times

Red-breasted Nuthatch pauses before flying to our nearby bird feeder. In the winter of 2020-21, these birds where plentiful, however until recently, I had not seen one in 18 months. While they breed in my area, they are subject to “irruptive” years when large populations migrate south.

Sounds like you get many more REd-Breasted Nuthatches than we do. We can find them during the winter but they are not plentiful. Great shot of this one.
