While checking out some prime spots for Pine Grosbeaks I heard a somewhat familiar breezy buzzy noise. I caught a glimpse of a bird I thought was a Cedar Waxwing but after closer inspection I was delighted to see it was a Bohemian Waxwing. I backed off and waited to see where the flock was going to feed next. I watched the flock move around and decided to stake out a few crab apple trees where eventually the birds landed. I had about 15 minutes of great looks and a bit of feeding. This was my first day birding in Maine and I’m hoping to get a few more nice rarities.
