Ruby-throated Hummingbird

In the garden

Viewed 36 Times

This hummingbird was very attracted to these tropical looking flowers. I bring a small stool with me and sit with my camera on a tripod waiting for the birds to come to me.. I have found that hummingbirds are very predictable when feeding.. if they stop at a flower and feed from it, wait about 10-15 minutes later and they should return. I’ve read that they have a circle of feeding flowers and visit them throughout the day. If I have learned nothing at all from photographing hummingbirds, it’s being patient.

That Mango Popsicle Poker plant makes for such a great combo with the Hummingbird. You’re not going to get much better. Great shot!
