I think this Willet got used to me going by every day on the beach, as it let me get pretty close.
Fun facts about Willets: they use the tips of their bills to hunt prey and not just eyesight, so they can hunt both day and night. They are also similar to Killdeer, using the broken wing display to lure predators away from their nests.

Great picture of the Willet. I also enjoyed the Fun Facts – I enjoyed reading them. I’ve seen many Willets, particularly in Florida but was unaware of those abilities.
