Eastern Phoebe

Hovering Eastern Phoebe

Viewed 44 Times

A bunch of Eastern Phoebes were swooping and diving along the pond. After observing them for a little while, I noticed that sometimes they would hover, and that would be my best chance to get a BIF photo. After patiently waiting (and snapping scores of photos) I finally captured this!

The low light environment prevented me from using a higher shutter speed.

I love the Eastern Phoebe shot and I think the shot benefited from the lower shutter speed! That little blur in the wings tells the story even better than a completely frozen shot.
