While everything looks pretty calm above water, this pelicans feet are paddling away. If you look closely, you can see them near the surface of the water.

Thanks for all the BIF shots of the pelicans! They are good targets to practice flight shots on. We drive across the Mississippi on the way to visit grandkids often and always stop at Dam 14, just south of La Claire to see the Pelicans. Next time you’re there try setting your Exposure Compensation down 1/3 or 2/3. This will darken the overall image but more importantly prevent the whites from appearing blown-out.
Yes, I could have shot a little darker or just darkened it 10-20% in PhotoShop to show more detail. Can I give you a tip now? I have noticed that you are not spelling LeClaire correctly.
