This Horned Grebe moved very close to the shore of the pond, so I knew I had a great opportunity. I moved closer only when it dove under water, and I made sure to be fully repositioned and very still by the time it returned to the surface. When it finally noticed me, it simply paddled away and resumed feeding elsewhere in the pond.

I love the red eye of the Horned Grebe. They can get pretty close for some great pics like yours.
Thanks Mike!
