My wife and I stop at a scenic overload at the Theodore Roosevelt National Park in Medora, North Dakota and we came across this meadowlark. I probably could have gotten a closer shot if other visitors hadn’t brought their dogs that tended to scare the bird away.

This Western Meadowlark looks less colorful. I’m wondering if it was an immature bird? Nonetheless it’s a great shot.
I think it’s just the angle. I only saw the one Meadowlark.
