A Clapper Rail that was seen running across a break in the reeds that then stopped to scratch an itch before disappearing into another batch of reeds. I’d taken my granddaughter birding and had previously seen this bird, so I hoped it would still be around. I got her set up with an eBird account and she already had 40 birds on her life list after just 2 days.
