This is one of the same birds I posted earlier as a pair. Shot in Costa Rica. I have many images of this species shot in different locals and in different poses-both perched and in flight. For some reason this pose appeals to me. Does it to you?

I agree. It is a great pose! I got some shots from a trip to Texas but none are this good.
It’s a personal bias of mine, but pictures shown in portrait mode are more difficult for me to see. They seem too narrow and I feel like I’m missing something. Sometimes shots of birds head-on don’t work for me either, although this one isn’t bad.
