Downy Woodpecker feeding a youngster.

We spotted this youngster being fed by the parent when hiking through Kitchell-Lindquist Dunes Preserve, Grand Haven, MI. This photo was underexposed when I took this photo. I kept it because I liked the silhouette just as the beaks were touching while the youngster was being fed.

The pic of the silhouetted Downys looks so intimate. Makes you think about what’s going on in the shot.

This picture is adorable. It looks like too birds smooching instead of a bird feeding a baby ❤️.
