If anyone is interested, I am processing the final images of our trip to Costa Rica in November, 2022. One of my “quirks” is that I process our images in chronological order. That means I am usually about 6-12 months behind. This shot was taken with ambient light off the terrace of our cabin at Paraiso Quetzal lodge. This has to be one of the premier spots in the world to see and photograph hummingbirds . Commonly 5-7 species are regular with 20-30 individuals at any one time around the flowers and feeders. Sometimes lighting can be tough but on this day it was bright overcast. Flash can be used but you are so close to the birds that it is difficult to not get the “flashed feathers” look on these iridescent hummingbirds.
These are Fiery-throated Hummingbirds. Processed in PS, BG slightly reduced and blurred, birds slightly raised and texture added.
Stunning image well done
