Another shot of the Limpkin with a tasty morsel of mussel and you can see the large mussel shell that it opened at its feet.

Very nice shots of the Limpkin! I have yet to get one in IL so I should go up there before it takes off. I usually go the day after they leave…

Great picture. I went up to see it too. For me it was hiding in the grasses, but still fun to see.

That is interesting. Clearly there is an abundance of food supply. How long do they hang around?
