Great Blue Heron
Photo of a Great Blue Heron standing by the walking path around Lake Marmo not distressed by human activity on the path. I had watched the bird preening in this location for about 10 minutes before the guy walked by it. I talked to this guy who told me he has seen this heron repeatedly over the past weeks. On one occasion he was able to sit an a bench and the bird got within 2 feet from him.
After taking this photo the heron flew across the lake and landed in the water within 10 feet of me.
While this is not a typical photo for this site I was so amazed at how “tame” this individual was that I had to share it.
