American Robin

Obscured robin

One strategy that I tend to like a lot with obscured photos is to position the subject so that the obscuring object is very close to the lens. This often works very will with Foliage. In this image, I positioned myself so there was a tuft of grass just in front of my lens. It gives a greenish cast to the image and softens some of the contrast on the subject which I think helps convey the mood of a bright spring morning.
