I photographed this female downy woodpecker at the popular feeder at Lincoln Memorial Garden. When I came home, there was a red-bellied woodpecker hanging from my bird feeder outside my kitchen window similar to a photo I posted previously.

Striking shot of the Downy WP. How did you get the background black? It doesn’t look like you used Photoshop for post-processing. Was it already there?
The feeder is outside a big picture window at the Prairie Center. I guess it’s tinted enough to make it appear black.
