Boardwalk West is on the western side of Lake Macatawa adjoining the channel that empties into Lake Michigan. In the fall and spring, this is a great place for birds to migrate. We have seen upwards of 2,000 Blue Jays cross in an hours time. We also get many other species including this Peregrine Falcon. The Blue Jays stop short of immediately crossing the short distance across the lake. They gather in the treetops and then head out in larger groups. The Peregrine wastes no time as it heads south.

Great capture of the Peregrine. I would like to check out the migration at that location – maybe this spring?
