A Black Tern showed up at Bruce’s Bayou on the Grand River in Grand Haven. Back in the 1990’s this species nested at this location. Then they stopped. Two or three times in recent years a few of them have been observed here. We have a couple of times also have them as flybys at Holland State Park. They do nest further north in the lower peninsula.

There’s a spot way out in the boonies where we get looks at Black Terns. Otherwise not so much.
