Ospreys are found on every continent except Antarctica and I expect in every US state. They are migratory in Washington usually returning in March to Eastern Washington and a bit later west of the Cascades. They are primarily if not exclusively fish eaters and are rarely found far from water. Their nests – mostly on platforms provided by man – make them pretty conspicuous. This one was perched not far from its nest visible from Interstate 90 in Kittitas County, WA
