Yesterday I birded at a new place – in Jefferson County on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington. Great mix of birds with 61 species. The highlight was seeing 3 different Soras, photographing 1 and hearing at least two and possibly 4 more. These skulky birds are hard to coax into the open. This one was very inquisitive and came almost two close to focus on as it came within inches of me.
