Spike

This American white pelican has broken off most of the growth on his/her beak. I was in Davenport, Iowa to see Canadian Pacific 4-6-4 Hudson 2816 “The Empress” (built in 1930) on its tri-country tour, but I couldn’t resist photographing some of the pelicans downstream from Lock and Dam 15 on the Mississippi River.
