We were visiting friends in Stuart Florida this past weekend and Sheila found a rare bird alert for the Common Myna in Flagler Park – so we made that our first stop in Stuart. We searched for 30 minutes, with no sign of the Mynas. Disappointed, we began the drive to our friends’ home, but with the windows down so Sheila could listen. She heard them – I quickly pulled over and we jumped out of the car. We found three of them near downtown Stuart, searching the ground by a dumpster for scraps! They flushed and flew up to a roof. This photo is one of them strutting along the roof. And that was our Florida rare bird story for mid July 2024!
