Large-billed Tern

This Large-billed Tern was swooping, soaring and dipping in the water as it flew over Lake Pilchecocha next to the Sacha Lodge. Our local and Field Guide guides were surprised and pleased to see this bird and add it to our trip list, because they are uncommon to that area.

Interestingly, there have been two Large-billed Terns living near Naples FL since Hurricane Ian apparently blew them into Southwest FL.
